ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

EAT SMART EDUCATERING LIMITED IS COMMITTED TO PRESERVING THE RESOURCES OF THE PLANET AND PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.

To these ends Eat Smart Educatering Limited undertakes, wherever practical, to work in co-operation with Clients, Suppliers, Customers and Staff to do what can be done to preserve and improve the environment, both immediate and global

Specifically, Eat Smart Educatering Limited and its entire staff shall, as far as possible, adhere to the following guidelines and policy which shall be reviewed annually, or as appropriate, to ensure its continued effectiveness.

1. Waste Disposal

We will wherever possible iinvestigate and utilise environmentally sound waste disposal methods in respect of food product containers. We will also recycle bottles, jars, tins etc. minimise the use of plastic materials waste oil collected for recycling food waste – broken down.

2. Consumables

We will wherever possible use recycled paper for all possible purposes, use biodegradable and phosphate-free detergent in sinks, dishwashers, etc. We will obtain a detailed list of chemical agents employed in the products we use together with a statement from our suppliers on their environmental impact. Specify pump sprays rather than gas propelled aerosols. Use items containing/produced with recycled products.

3. Energy Efficiency

We will, wherever possible within the parameters of Health & Safety, minimise the usage of water within our operations, and ensure that lighting, heating cooling and freezing equipment is not used unnecessarily at levels which are excessive for the purpose for which it is utilised.

4. Food Sources

We will work towards a purchasing policy which is environmentally sound and work with suppliers to ensure that, wherever possible. Over-packaging is eliminated. Regularly scrutinize suppliers to ascertain their progress towards environmental responsibility with regard to manufacturing, production, transport and general operation.

5. Transport/Delivery

We will wherever practical decrease the number of deliveries and return components for recycling.
